Jeremy Hanke
Jeremy Hanke is the editor-in-chief of Microfilmmaker Magazine. He founded MicroFilmmaker Magazine in 2005 to help low-budget filmmakers make better films through traditional means like tips, articles, training tutorials, and reviews, but also by less common means like critiquing new films as they are created by both local and international filmmakers. In addition to helping low-budget filmmakers make better films, Jeremy has been able to use the magazine to connect filmmakers to Indie musicians, scriptwriters, comic creators, financiers, distributors, and other groups that can help each other. MFM’s approach has been so revolutionary that it’s attracted filmmakers from every continent on the globe, including Antartica.
When he’s not editing the magazine, Jeremy works busily on films for his production firm, Viking Productions. He’s directed two feature length films, co-directed a thirty minute medium-short film, directed half a dozen short films, and produced multiple short films for aspiring filmmakers from under-privileged environments.
During his free time, he devours fantasy novels from the likes of Stephen R. Donaldson and Terry Brooks, plays Texas Hold ‘em with his wife Kari, and teaches Shudokan karate to his foster son, Richie.
